The Six Bells is a perfect country escape set on the edge of the village green, near the duck pond in the pretty Suffolk village of Bardwell. Originating in the late 1500s, the Inn was enlarged in the 19th century and more recently by ourselves. It now offers a characterful blend of old and new. Totally surrounded by countryside, it offers total peace and tranquillity, great food and a country atmosphere. Yet with improvements to the A11 & the A14, it is surprisingly an easy drive from London and the Midlands. We offer all the delights of a Country Inn - excellent food and drink in a friendly and hospitable atmosphere. Our kitchen team, under the personal direction of Richard Salmon, offers a three course menu each evening with a choice of dishes varying between the contemporary to the traditional. Prime local produce, fresh fish from Lowestoft, Suffolk pork and game in season is prepared daily for you to enjoy. There is a natural and comforting ambience to our country-style beamed dining room with its old Suffolk range making it a lovely setting for your dinner. Furthermore, our pretty conservatory with its views over the garden and countryside provides a light and airy complimentary dining area. Check in for rooms is available from 3.30 pm. If you plan to arrive after 10.00pm please telephone us to make special arrangements. Please read our policy statement before booking. Thank you.
