The Red Lion Hotel is an historical Grade 1 listed building (c1465) located in the town centre of historic Colchester. The hotel is one of the oldest inns in East Anglia and has been described as 'a fine example of Tudor England'.
The old Banqueting Hall, which is now the Parliament Restaurant, has a remarkable beamed ceiling. The bedrooms are individually furnished with antiques and have a wealth of original exposed beams and wattle and daub walls. Please note that there is no car park attached to the hotel and the NCP car park is 5 minutes walk away, parking will be paid for by the hotel , we suggest that you stop in the loading area and off load your baggage into the Hotel if you have a lot. The hotel is located in the town centre and there are numerous shops nearby including well known chain stores and smaller, boutique-style shops.
