Quinta do Monte has 38 guestrooms with private balcony with superb views of the magnificent gardens, plus 4 suites with a separate bedroom and sitting room plus bathrooms with a jacuzzi and a spacious balcony. Besides the quaint small streets, Monte was once served by a railway line, which was deactivated in the 1940's. In the meantime another form of transportation came to take the place of the picturesque train. A cable car now links the old part of Funchal to Monte as well as an alternative of traditional wicker basket toboggans from Monte Funchal.
