Hotel Introduction
Historic Gettysburg - where a nation was saved. In July of 1863, this little known town of 2,400 in South Central Pennsylvania hosted the defining battle of the American Civil War. General Robert E. Lee's Confederate Army of 75,000 men collided with 97,000 men of the Union Army under the direction of General George G. Meade. More men fought and died in the Battle of Gettysburg than in any other battle before or since on North American soil. Today, Gettysburg National Military Park has preserved this epic battle with over 1,000 monuments and cannon along 40 miles of scenic landscape. In addition to this rich Civil War heritage, Historic Gettysburg offers visitors a variety of scenic beauty, recreation, arts, entertainment, shopping and now...unsurpassed hospitality.
