Visas and Passports Requirements for Australia
To travel in Australia, you will need a valid passport and an appropriate tourism visa.
Tourism Visas
The Tourist Visa (seperate to the ETA) allows visitors to stay for three, six, or 12 months. This Visa is required for all passport which are unable to apply for an ETA Visa, including South Africa.
ETA Visas
ETA Visas allow travel to Australia for tourism or business for up to three months. Passports include: USA, Canada, UK (British Citizen and Overseas Nationals), and European Union countries including France, Germany, Italy, Spain and Portugal. Those on a USA Passport will be able to apply for their ETA Visa online.
Other Visas
The Sponsored Family Visitor Visa is for those who will be visiting family in Australia for no more than one year. You must have a formal sponsorship from an Australian resident or permanent resident.
