Kota Kinabalu is a veritable blend of modern city luxuries and the gentle ebb and flow of a nature at its best. Not far from the city, endangered orang utans hide in the dense rainforest at Sepilok and the oceans of Sabah abound with fish, turtles and coral.

Kota Kinabalu is located in the Sabah Province of Malaysia, on the eastern island of Borneo. With a population of just under 1 million, the Kota Kinabalu area is the sixth largest urban centre in Malaysia. The city is an important industrial centre, port and tourist gateway for the reefs and rainforests of Sabah.
