Oslo Dress Code
The dress code is fairly casual in Oslo, though some of the exclusive restaurants may require a jacket and tie to be worn. Business attire is more formal and people are expected to dress smartly; both men and women usually wear suits.
Greeting Someone in Oslo
As in the rest of Europe, shaking hands is the usual form of greeting. Punctuality is important for social and business meetings alike and calling cards are often exchanged. People generally address each other by their first names, but at business meetings a person's title and surname is often used initially.
Oslo Business Hours and Banking
Oslo business hours are between 08:00 and 16:00, Monday to Friday. Banks will open between 09:30 and 16:00, Monday to Friday with certain larger banks open for business on Saturday mornings.
Oslo Smoking
Smoking is prohibited in most Oslo public buildings and on public transport, although there are often special spaces for smokers to indulge in cafés, bars and restaurants.
