Orlando - Notes and Coins
Orlando Currency Exchange
As is the case in most cities in the United States, you will only be allowed to spend US dollars in the city, although if you have a credit card that works outside of your home country, you are more than happy to use it, assuming it is a MasterCard, Visa or American Express. As for exchanging currency, it depends on where you are staying. If you are staying on theme park property, there will be places in your resort and even within the parks themselves where you can change currency or cash a traveler’s check. However, if you are staying off property, it may be slightly more difficult, as you will need to find a local bank.
Banks
There are plenty of banks in the Orlando area, and standard banking hours are nine a.m. to five p.m. Monday through Friday. Most banks have ATMs available twenty-four hours per day. However, if you aren’t sure about the lay of the land, tracking one down can be difficult and some branches hit you with fees or surcharges if you aren’t a member. Traveler’s checks are a safe bet to bring as almost everyone takes them and they can be replaced if lost or stolen.
