The primary means of reaching Las Palmas de Gran Canaria is by airplane. The airport is located on the east of the island, and is only 18km away from the capital city. The busy resorts of the south are also only 25km away. Low-cost airlines such as EasyJet, Ryan Air and Jet2 fly between Las Palmas and major cities in Europe, and Binter Canarias offer low cost flights between Las Palmas and the other islands.
Taking a taxi is an easy option for group travellers, with fares costing an average of €25 from ther airport to the city or vice versa. A taxi to the south of the island could end up being quite pricey, with an average fare costing circa €40.
The public bus is a quick and reliable way to reach the airport – a far from Las Palmas de Gran Canaria to the airport costs only €2.85, with a journey to the south of the island costing circa €3.85.

Global SU is the main bus company which operates services between Las Palmas and other towns on the island. Single fares average at about €3 and with over 120 different routes, it is a cost-effective and hassle-free way to explore the island.
Las Palmas de Gran Canaria is accessible from other cities in the Canary islands as well as some continental cities by ferry. Travelling between the islands can be q quick journey, with sailing between Las Palmas and Tenerife taking just over three hours, however trips to the continent can be extremely arduous.
A journey to Cadiz or Huelcva, both in the south of mainland Spain, can take our 30 hours. The cost of a ferry journey to continental Europe is also quite expensive when compare to the various flight options offered by low cost airlines such as Ryan Air and EasyJet.
