The airport is situated 21km southeast of the city on motorway E65. It has been undergoing a massive expansion programme for several years, resulting in a most stylish and efficient new Terminal A, completed in December 2006. Further expansion is on the cards for a new runway and a four-star airport hotel amongst other construction works after 2011.
Many low-cost airlines fly to Dubrovnik from around most major cities in Europe such as London, Geneva, Paris, Frankfurt and Rome. Operating airlines include British Airways, Croatia Air, Aer Lingus, Lufthansa and EasyJet.
