The Seychelles enjoys a tropical climate with hot, humid weather. Being so close to the equator, there is little variation in the temperature, the maximum being between 30ºC-33ºC, and minimum temperature averaging 25ºC. Exotic tropical flowers like hibiscus, orchid and frangipani thrive in the humid conditions, enhancing the beauty of the stunning islands.
The southeast trade winds blow from April to October when the temperatures are slightly lower and dry sunny days are experienced making these months the most favourable for sailing. However, if sailing, note that Farquhar Atoll in the Outer Islands lies within the cyclone belt.
From November to March the rain-bearing northwest monsoons are responsible for heavy tropical downpours.
