Liverpool Philharmonic Hall

The Liverpool Philharmonic Hall is home to the city’s Philharmonic Orchestra and a Grade II listed building. It was built in the 1930s and seats over 1,500. Anfield Stadium

Anfield Stadium homes one of the world’ most famous football teams, Liverpool FC. The stadium, which seats over 45’000 spectators, was opened in 1884 on the same grounds. Stadium tours are available on non-match days.

Western Approaches

A restored WW2 communications bunker, used to monitor enemy approaches from the Western coast of Britain. The museum is built inside the original structure, and the rooms has been recreated as they were in the wartime, with replica telecommunications and encoding equipment.

Merseyside Maritime Museum

A museum dedicated to early sea travel, including the immigrations from England to the ‘New World’ (now the USA) and the major ship disasters of the Titanic and Lusitania.

International Slavery Museum

The International Slavery Museum aims to provide greater understanding of the slave trade and its legacy.

Tate Liverpool

The Tate Liverpool is one of the Tate group’s four museums in the UK. It has a permanent exhibition of contemporary art as well as some works from the Tate collection, and also hosts special exhibitions.

Local History and Architecture

St. George's Hall
St. George's Place, Liverpool, L1 1JJ

A Grade 1 listed building, St. George's Hall was completed in 1854 as a community centre, holding balls, concerts and even trials. Today the building is used as an event centre for conferences, concerts and society parties.

The Bluecoat

A Grade 1 building and Liverpool landmark, the Bluecoat is a former school building which was built in the 1700s. Today it is used as a venue to showcase the creative arts, including film, dance, music and visual arts.

Speke Hall

House open Saturday and Sunday only February to March and November to December (closed over Christmas and in January). House open every day except Monday and Tuesday from March to end October – A 400-year old Tudor manor house, surrounded by stunning gardens and woodland. The building is an excellent example of Tudor-style architecture and has restored Victorian interiors.

Liverpool Cathederal

Taking over 70 years to complete, Liverpool Cathederal is the largest cathederal in the UK and the fifth largest in the world. It was completed in 1978 and stands 154m above the Mersey river.
